William Towne has been  building period furniture and grandfather clocks  in his one man shop in upstate New York for over forty years. He now confines his work to the reproduction of eighteenth and nineteenth century clocks that are on display in museums or featured in his collection of clock books. Each clock is meticulously created from fine cabinet woods such as mahogany, walnut, cherry or curly maple, finished with hand applied period finish and  fitted with a high quality weight-driven movement and hand painted dial. These clocks  grace many homes in the United States and will be passed along for generations.
